Science Researcher

Science Researcher

Scientific work has probably never seen such exciting times before. Sure, all men of science most likely said that about their own time but the last hundred years has been different than all the
other times. You have accesses to alien species, alien artifacts and a new dimension in the form
of the Ghost Lines.

You go where the interesting research is, and where funding can be found. The universe has millions of secrets and you look to unlock them all by cutting deep into the black void with the precise edge of your craft. The Gerions biotech, the dangerous and powerful artifacts of unknown origin and the possibilities offered by nanites and electromagnetism are endless. You travel to the most remote regions of the galaxy, driven by your insatiable thirst for
knowledge.

In the world of C&D there is a great distinction between a scientist and a science researcher. A science researcher is seldom stationed for long as he is more inclined to find new angles and opportunities to turn into actual science. One can say that they’re the prospectors of the scientific world. They find new scientific materials and research, do the preliminary scientific
work and sell the opportunity to their clients/employers. Of course, there are times when they take on more long term experiments of their own, but in most cases they sell scientific opportunities, they’re the prospectors of the scientific world. Many work for companies in which case they get a monthly salary, while others operate on their own, selling the possibility of new discoveries for a fee they negotiate with their clients.

in to find out why and if aspects of the project are salvageable. Actual reports of disasters as well as communication blackouts of multibillion research facilities are reasons that call for your
attention.
Plant: You might be a freelance agent or a corporate spy, either way your job entails being planted for a while at a research facility under a false identity. Your job is to accumulate data and even samples of the work if possible and get it back to your clients. It’s a dangerous job but
the pay can be substantial.
Artifacts Researcher: You try to get your hands on artifacts and research their applications. However, as this is illegal in many cases you operate outside the core systems and often have to deal with dangerous environments as well as dangerous people.
